We had our first chance taking a look at a Samsung monitor larger than
19 inches. Today, we will be reviewing the Samsung 204B LCD
Monitor, a whopping 20 inch LCD monitor. In this review, we will
examine the overall design and features of the monitor; we will also
discuss the benefits of having a larger LCD monitor compared with a
slightly smaller LCD monitor or even the person still stuck in the CRT
monitor realm. More... |

We recently bought 2 (yes, two!) 30
inch monitors for our gaming setup. The choice for the
Dell 3007WFP came down primarily to availability here in
Australia but we also looked seriously at Apple's 30in
Cinema HD display. In this first look review we give you
our findings after having used the Dells for about two
months now. What are the main pros and cons of the
3007WFP? More... |

Samsung has been known in making LCD monitors that are fully functional
and provide the latest technology while making them very affordable.
Over the past few years, we have seen a variety of Samsung monitors with
the usual use of silver and black designs. Also to mention is the
faster response times which are being put in monitors these days as well
as better contrast ratios and overall brightness. Today, I will be
reviewing the Samsung 970p LCD Monitor. This monitor deviates
slightly from the usual Samsung design by capturing the 'simple, yet
elegant' approach. This will be understood further in the review.
With this in mind, Samsung still manages to pack in the rest of the
features such as a 6ms response time ideally making it an excellent
choice for gaming as well as the razor sharp 1:1000 contrast ratio.

LCD displays
for the computer have come to the point where they are
more affordable and are starting to become more common.
Computer manufacturers now provide consumers with the
option of choosing a CRT monitor or upgrading to an LCD
display. When comparing LCD displays with CRT
monitors, each have their unique features that tend to a
user's preference. LCD displays are much thinner,
lighter, and definitely more portable than a CRT
monitor. CRT monitors on the other hand are much
heavier, but are much cheaper.

If you are on
the lookout for a 19 inch LCD monitor, then consider the Samsung
Syncmaster 915n. Unlike your typical 19 inch LCD monitor, this
has an extremely low pixel response time of 8ms which makes this
monitor very attractive for gaming. The previously recently
reviewed LG 1980U had a pixel response time of 12ms. The real
question that you may ask is whether there is really a
difference between 12 and 8ms. In general, the answer is
'yes'. There is a slight difference, that is, if you have a
picky eye. More... |

LCD displays have come a long way. LCD
displays for your computer are more desirable these days because they
offer larger screens, are much more affordable, and are more acceptable
for gaming. When gaming with an LCD monitor, one of the issues
involves "ghosting". In general, ghosting is a blurriness of the
screen when viewing fast paced images or content on a LCD monitor.
The reason behind this has to do with the pixel response time of a LCD
monitor. The pixel response time basically determines how fast a
pixel can be displayed on a screen. If you have a high pixel
response time, then ghosting is prevalent. On the other hand, a
low pixel response time translates to minimal or non-perceived ghosting.
Today, I will be reviewing the LG Flatron 1980U LCD display. This
monitor is ideal for gaming because of it's emphasized low 12ms response
time. More... |
