If you’re like me and enjoy a hearty slow-cooked meal especially during those chilly winter months, although I’ll admit, I’m a fan year-round, then this one’s for you. There’s something magical about the set-it-and-forget-it convenience that just makes life easier, especially when you’ve got a busy lifestyle and a hungry family to feed. So, we reached out to our friends at Instant Brands to try the highly acclaimed Instant Superior Slow Cooker, I was more than ready to see if it lived up to the hype.

First Impressions

Right out of the box, this slow cooker makes a great first impression. It’s sleek, compact, and has a modern design that’s a far cry from the bulky, clunky models I’m used to. Honestly, it’s the kind of appliance you wouldn’t mind leaving out on the counter.

Features

The Instant Superior Slow Cooker is a 4-in-1 wonder with a PFOA-free non-stick surface, a tempered glass lid, and a lightweight exterior that’s easy on the eyes. The digital interface is refreshingly simple, just pick your mode, set the temp and timer, and hit start. The large, easy-to-read numbers are a nice touch as well, especially if you’ve got little ones constantly asking, “When’s dinner?”

In Use

With a generous 7.1L capacity this slow cooker is built for serious family meals, and with the large round shape, makes stirring a breeze, no more awkward scraping with those oval-shaped slow cookers. The large surface area is perfect for searing, too. I used to have to brown my meat in batches in a separate pan, but with the Instant pot slow cooker, I can sear everything at once. Just Set the timer, walk away, and let the cooker do its thing. Less mess, less clean-up, and all those delicious juices stay right where they belong, in the dish. Mmm.

The cooking pot’s lightweight design and convenient handles make it easy to carry straight to the table, where the family can dig in. And when the meal’s done, just pop the pot & lid into the dishwasher, absolutely no fuss

Another nice feature is the automatic warmer that kicks in once the cooking timer ends, keeping your meal at the right serving temperature until everyone’s ready to eat, which is perfect when dinner time is a moving target.

Gripes

Honestly, I struggled to find any real issues with the Instant Superior Slow Cooker. I initially thought the Slow cooking timer only having half-hour increments would be a downside, but it actually made setting the cooking time quicker and easier.

Conclusion

The Instant Superior Slow Cooker definitely lives up to its name. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and easy on the eyes, with a RRP of $179 but at time of publishing is discounted to $139, this one’s a winner in my book.

Big thanks to our friends at Instant Brands, this one has definitely earned a spot in our kitchen.
