Setup
The setup process for the Logitech Pop Icon Keys keyboard and mouse is straightforward and fast. Thanks to Logitech’s user-friendly software and wireless connectivity options set up took me a grand total of two minutes. If your device does not have Bluetooth, you’ll need to purchase a Bluetooth dongle as this does not come with the keyboard or mouse.
You can choose to install the Logitech Options Software, which is a great tool to manage and customise the keyboard and mouse. Using the software allows you to reassign keys, adjust the sensitivity settings for the mouse, and configure the function of customisable buttons. This obviously took me a little longer than the initial setup process, but it was also straightforward.
Another handy little trick – if handy little tricks are your thing – is the ability to set up the device for ‘work’ or for ‘break’. By customising your Action keys you can quickly access your suite of productivity tools or you can launch your social media, music & streaming services.
Compatibility
The keyboard and mouse work well with a variety of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, making them versatile across different platforms. I love that both the mouse and keyboard have the ability to switch between connected devices by simply touching a button! Its super simple.
Ergonomics
When it comes to ergonomics, the Logitech Pop Icon Keys are more about “casual comfort” rather than full ergonomic design. They are gorgeous to look at, are comfortable to use for short work stints, but fall a little short when it comes to using for longer periods.
Keyboard
- The keyboard has low-profile keys that are beautifully quiet. I find the sound of clacking and noisy tapping of some keyboards is akin to “nails down a blackboard!”
- The layout is compact and relatively standard, though it lacks a dedicated number pad. This can be a pro or con, depending on your needs – it’s great for saving desk space but may be inconvenient for heavy data entry.
- The key spacing is great, and the keys have an indent in them which feel nice under my fingertips.
Unfortunately the keyboard cannot be adjusted for height. The casement for the batteries lifts the rear of the keyboard up so that it sits on a slight angle, but it is not adjustable.
Mouse
- The mouse has a very compact, ambidextrous design, making it equally comfortable for both left- and right-handed users. For people who prefer a smaller, lightweight mouse this is the one for you as it seems smaller in scale to a full-sized ergonomic mouse. For my small hands, this is no problem, but I imagine it would be a downside for users with larger hands.
- While the mouse rolls smoothly on my desk surface, it does not offer enough support for continued use over a long period of time.
Battery life
The keyboard and mouse both come with long-lasting battery life, with the keyboard offering up to 3 years of battery life, and the mouse up to 2 years. This is a great feature for low-maintenance use, especially since both devices use regular AAA batteries (keyboard) and AA batteries (mouse).
TL:DR
I really love this Logitech keyboard and mouse combo! It suits my work requirements and is gorgeous to look at!
