There is only 6 weeks to Christmas in a very bizarre year, I am sure many of us are looking to see the end of 2020 even though there is no magic line in the sand come 1 January 2021.
Here at DRN we are kicking off our inaugural Christmas gift guides with wireless earbuds, a category the team has been playing with a bit this year. Please note the Amazon links provided here may give you some savings over the recommended retail pricing, and buying through Amazon helps DigitalReviews so we appreciate if you would considering making your purchase there.
Jabra Elite 85t
The newest entry to the Jabra’s fantastic earbuds range features a dedicated noise-cancelling chip for Advanced Active Noise Cancellation. DRN have not had the opportunity to review this one yet but all indications is that it is a worthy successor to the Jabra Elite 75t. These are available from 15 November 2020 from Jabra for AUD$349. You can purchase them from Amazon from this link as well.
Jabra Elite 75t
Technically I reviewed this one in late 2019, but it has just received Active Noise Cancelling feature via firmware upgrade. Besides I am still rocking them frequently because they are so easy to carry around. I have noticed after the ANC upgrade though that they take a little longer to get started and connected when I need to take a call, but it is not a dealbreaker. The RRP is AUD$299, but you may find some deals including on Amazon.
Jabra Elite Active 75t
Our rising sports star Devlin Webb (when you press his old man Ben into the team, the family comes for the ride right?) gave these a good workout when he could go practice cricket in the nets. They are still his regular go-to and thriving with his very active lifestyle. The RRP is AUD$329 and there are some deals on Amazon.
Jaybird Vista
I found the Jaybird Vista one of the most secure fitting earbuds I have tried thanks to the little fin that nestles into the concha. These ones have gone around the family with Master J inheriting them for a few months and now to Lady A. It looks like the right bud is now playing up on me, but they have been a solid performer up to this point. The RRP for these are AUD$349.95 but there are some hefty discounts to be found on Amazon.
Skullcandy Indy Evo
Jo is still in love with the Skullcandy Indy Evo that she reviewed a few months ago. They just work for her, lightweight, good sounds, and she can just slip them into her handbag. The Tile integration means when her other half tries to steal them off her, she can always find where they have gone. The RRP for these are AUD$179.95 and you may still be able to get 15% off if you buy directly from Skullcandy.
Skullcandy Push Ultra
These ones were a little different in that they aren’t actually in-ear buds, they have these hooks that goes over your ears and it sits close to the ear canal. With the Tile integration I was more than happy for our teenager to take them everywhere. Well the other day he let slip that in class he shares his Push Ultra with his friend so they can listen to the same music while studying. I suppose I am particularly grateful these aren’t in-ear!
The RRP for these are AUD$249.95 and you may still be able to get 15% off if you buy directly from Skullcandy.
Skullcandy Sesh Evo
According to Lis, her 18 year old son has won the Battle Royale to keep the Skullcandy Sesh Evo and they have been his constant companion since. And oh, they are great for surreptitiously confirm if he is actually where he says he is. The RRP for these are AUD$139.95 and you may still be able to get 15% off if you buy directly from Skullcandy.
As always, DRN would like to thank Jabra, Jaybird and Skullcandy for their on-going support. Read what our editors think of each of these earbuds as they will be great Christmas gifts at all price points. Stay tuned as we will be posting more gift guides.
